Running DilaSoftAnalyze.exe in Debug mode. Note: As of version 3.x, the DilaSoftAnalyze program creates the log file by default. Analyze.exe has a special 'debug' mode that will create a log file of all internal actions performed by the program. This is useful in situations where analyze may not run correctly, or at all. The log file created may be requested by Theta technical support and is part of the Problem Report automatically created by the DilaSoft software. This feature is included in all analyze.exe programs dated after 04/2000. The setup to run in debug mode: In order to run analyze in debug mode, a new shortcut must be made and a parameter added to it's command line. To create the shortcut: Open Explorer and locate the directory where DilaSoft for Windows 32 was installed (usually C:\DialSoft). Now locate the analyze.exe file. Click on this file with the left mouse button and make sure to hold down the button. Now, while holding down the left mouse button, drag the file onto a clear space in the desktop itself. A shortcut to the file will be created on the desktop. Analyze can now be run by double-clicking this shortcut. To modify the command line: Click on this new shortcut to analyze.exe with the RIGHT mouse button. A menu will apprear. Select the Properties option and click on it. A window will open up showing the properties for the analyze shortcut. Click on the Shortcut tab at the top of the window. Near the middle of this window is a box named "Target: with the path and filename of the analyze.exe program showing. Click on this box to place the editing cursor on the line of text. Use the cursor keys to move to the end of the line. Make sure the line is NOT highlighted! Now, type a space, then the word "debug". Do NOT type the quote characters! If the install directory was C:\DialSoft, the full line should read: C:\DialSoft\Analyze.exe debug Now click on the Apply button at the bottom of this window. Then click on the Close button. The shortcut is now set up to run analyze in debug mode. Every time analyze is run from this icon, a log file will be created in the install directory named analyze.log. This is the file to be sent to Theta technical support if requested.
